NOISYRIS

Iris recognition is among the most popular techniques to recognize human beings. However, as in most biometric traits, the collection of data suitable to be used in experiments is difficult, mainly due to three factors: 1) the substantial amount of data required; 2) the time spent in the acquisition process; and 3) security / privacy concerns of potential volunteers.  This web page provides a way to synthesize ocular data (NOISYRIS) to feed experiments on iris recognition, namely its most important phases: segmentation and signature encoding / matching. The resulting data have an important singular characteristic: they simulate the image acquisition in uncontrolled conditions and at visible wavelengths, as illustrated in the examples given below.
